Army & Navy?

Oh, they're all right. A bit hard, though? And just a little bitter.

But to be honest, I'm not a fan of boiled sweets. I'm not patient enough with them and next thing you know I'm back off to Doc Holliday (again) to get my teeth worked on. You should see these crowns I had to put in to this incarnation! Here---twwakke a foook! IIIIIIIII haaaaaaaaafffdd taaa guuut fiiiifsh d----No, no, sorry, that's enough looking. Had to get these done because of biting into a boiled sweet, chipped a tooth.

I think when it comes to boiled candies, you really do have to have patience. I remember Ian used to love them, he'd sit around the TARDIS with a bag on his lap while he read. Couldn't understand it back then and I can't understand it now.

I also can't understand chewy sweets. They get all stuck in the spaces between your teeth and you're wandering around licking your teeth or picking it out and if you have a big smile like me it's not particularly attractive to be picking out little bits of sweet from your teeth!

You know what I like? Jelly babies. They're all around delicious candies. Not too chewy, not too hard, and deliciously flavored like fruit. And you know what they don't have? Pear-flavored jelly babies. They're just conveniently delicious that way.

Though I can say, Americans may go for cough drops, but a liquorice sweet does take away the average tickle in the back of the throat.
