He's Fire And Ice And Rage

First of all, I did very well on my test and tomorrow I'll be prepping to go into all of the classes I want. Tonight, I'm back and tagging asap. I'll also be finishing up those drabble requests.

Think I should do that drabble meme again? Opinions welcome.

Also, like the deleted scene in Journey's End where the Doctor gives Rose and the Duplicate Doctor a lump of TARDIS, I have some not-quite-canon that I am explicitly ignoring. ( Cut for spoilers to 4.18 'End of Time, Part Two'. )

Just a few quick things, because I need to make sure they're out!

1) Yes, I am participating in Nanowrimo. I hope it won't stunt my RP or writing too badly, but who can tell, yeah? Knowing me, I'll get a good 25,000 words in and give up (as is my usual MO for Nano). You're welcome to friend or follow my progress on Nano under the username rickmaniac101.

2) A few notes on commenting in this journal:
a) I don't always comment back (I'm notoriously bad at it, actually), but I really do thrive on comments and feedback on my stories, please don't stop.
b) If you comment DO NOT DELETE YOUR COMMENTS. I mean, yeah, if you make a misspelling and you can't edit, please feel free to delete and recomment. But if you feel stupid by something you've said (ten to one, I don't think you're stupid!) or I haven't commented back (see section a), don't delete your comment. It throws me off, and hurts my feelings. Unnecessarily wanky comments, even deleted ones, will get you banned. And I don't do a lot of banning, so don't make me start!
c) If you comment anonymously on my HMD post, please check back to see if I've responded. I need some clarifying on one of my most recent concrit comments and the mousie who commented never wrote back. I can't improve if you don't explain!

3) If we're threading and I haven't responded in a while, please drop me a line. I've been a little overwhelmed in the real world and I know I've neglected someone. Just let me know!

It's been a real roller-coaster weekend of emotions, but I'm back. Not to the fullest extent that I will be later on this week, but I will be tagging a few entries that have been neglected all weekend. Tags will still be slow, and I will still be scarce. But I'm workin' on it.

Right-o, guys, it's a month away now! So, who all is going to Gallifrey One? I know I'd love another meet-up, we had so much fun last year! Anyone else up for stalking Nicola Bryant? No? How about Garreth David-Lloyd? And trips to Arcade Infinity? How about cosplaying?

Personally, I'll be dressed on the cosplay day as Donna Noble from The Fires of Pompeii and my significant other will be Delgado Master. Yeah, don't you wish your boyfriend was awesome like mine?

Anyhoo, that's my convention post!

A few OOC things.

First of all, I'm sorry I haven't been around as much. I've been dealing with stress at work and headsickness from the weather change. If we're slowtiming and it's gotten too slow for you, don't hesitate to PM me and let me know you want to just handwave the end, I won't be offended at all. Things are only promising to get more hectic over the holidays, but I'll do my best to stay as active as possible. It looks like I may have to leave a few prompt communities, but I won't be advertising it when I do.

On a more fun note, remember that these are the last three days to nominate! Nominate rude_not_ginger all your favorite pups at the Arpea Awards! Looks like a ton of fun!

And also, nominate your favorite Doctor Who fic on Teaspoon or Livejournal in the Children of Time Awards! I know I went through and gave all my favs a quick nomination!

Both of these awards stop nominations on October 31st!

And a final note, I know that john_movinon is hosting a Halloween party (casual, easygoing, and really the Doctor needs to hang out with John more often than just at his parties), and changeshistory is hosting a party (that may or may not involve getting locked into a giant vault!) that the Doctor will be attending, as well as the etrelibre_rpg Halloween party. And now that I am finished writing this I know I had a question to stick on the end of this paragraph, but I can not remember what it was. I will edit the moment I remember. Have I mentioned it's been a long week? It's been a really long week and it isn't even halfway over yet.

Right-o, kids, so the new series of Doctor Who is starting up later this month (damn you, BBC One, for not setting me a date yet!). I always watch the show the night of its airing in the UK and my character begins to change/canon-morph directly after the viewed episode.

I usually just do a quick spoiler-cut for all new episodic materials, but seeing as this is the last series of Doctor Who until 2010, I figure I'll be a little more open to what y'all would like to see. I know BBC America will be airing the new episodes like two weeks after they air in the UK (that's what they've been doing for Torchwood as far as I'm aware), and other countries can take several months to get new episodes.
