The Irish are great with statue nicknames -- when I was in Dublin, I got to see the 'Tart with the Cart' (Molly Malone) and that odd modernist statue that supposedly depicts the 'spirit of the River Liffey'. Which for all the world looks like a naked woman with very long hair in a very long, narrow bathtub. Its nicknames are the 'Floozy in the Jacuzzi' and the 'Whore in the Sewer' (pronounced HOOR in th' SOOOOOR).
