And like the seasons you are also,
And though in your winter you deny your spring,
Yet spring, reposing within you, smiles in her drowsiness and is not offended.
--Kahlil Gibran, the Prophet

Dear Rachel,

Oh, the strange postcards you find when looking in the "Love" section of the Hallmark Emporium. Still, it's less heart-ful and more something I think you might appreciate. A panda eating food that it can't possibly digest!

So, I'm in the rather far future right now When did Hallmarks get to be so dangerous? The people standing in line are vicious! And this music is distracting! I'm certain it's all part of some scheme to get me to buy more. I've already picked up a 'Baby's First Christmas' ornament for my friend here who's never experienced a Christmas before.

Anyway, so this is my letter of congratulations, of sorts! I'm never good at making the right letter on the right holiday so make this one for Valentine's Day…whichever one is coming up next for you. Congratulations on finding love. Well, having it found you.

Cheers!

The Doctor

PS: And if you're ever in the area, let me know. We'll have another pizza charged to someone else's account and a bottle of wine.

Rachel isn't sure of a mailing address for the Doctor, or how to reach him. She decides to just trust in the awesomeness of the United States Postal Service, and so she drops a letter, addressed to the Doctor, on bright yellow paper, in the mail.

On the paper is the following note, in blue ink, in a rather loopy and lopsided script:

Dear Doctor,

Thanks for the postcard, and for the good wishes. It means a lot to me to be remembered, especially at such a crazy time, and for such happy news.

There's always a scheme to get you to buy more. Hopefully you were strong. Hopefully none of them had axes. Or were buttheads.

I hope this finds you well and happy. Come to DC when you can. I'd love to see you, and, dude, we could totally charge pizza to the United States Senate, now. Our dates just get classier by the day.

Take care.

Much love,
Rachel
