"I don't know," the Doctor admitted. "See, unlike other people in the room who make long-winded plans after meeting a bloke for five minutes, I don't think that far ahead when it comes to this sort of thing." He smirked, and it felt good. This all felt good, actually. The way Jack's hand was on his, the way he looked up into the Doctor's eyes. It was grounding, but it wasn't suffocating. The Doctor had waited a long time for a person who could do that.
"Besides, if we knew everything that would happen, it'd be a bit dull, wouldn't it?" he asked. "That's one of the best things about you, Jack. Unpredictable."
