This just made me cry. Completely. This is WONDERFUL. Such a beautiful window into the thoughts and genesis of the character over his tenure; the intricacies in his personality and actions. It could be very easily convoluted and muddled to try and show his changes over the years, but this does it effortlessly. This is probably one of my favourite things you're written.
