Dorothy's equally as wary, equally as quickly, but she's off like a shot after the Doctor. Lord knows the trouble he gets up to when he's left to his own devices, and if he's going to corner somebody who knows what's happened here, she wants to be there when the questions get asked.
She didn't see the thing very clearly. It looked fairly person-sized, but it was some distance away, moving, and only out of the corner of her eye. They could be chasing a dog or something. Although there's always the possibility that even a dog could give them more information about exactly what's going on.
