Wow, I can see this so clearly as an episode in the New Who. The opening is brilliant and caught you right on with the tease, and the rest of the episode delivers beautifully. Simple story but structure, pacing, dialogue, all very brilliant. I especially loved Mickey and the Doctor's dialogue, the snarky, irritable back & forth, it's so canon and yet I don't think I've seen anyone else write their dialogue quite so well. And yeah, Mickey the idiot saves the day :D
