The Doctor didn't bother to look at the door as Byron left, he simply watched the man's back leave on the video screen. Out to a world the Doctor could never visit again, to see a woman that the Doctor could never talk to again because she was already dead.
Confusing, that. And it appeared to make the Doctor's good mood dissipate quickly.
