It wouldn't have helped to have the Doctor disagree with him, not really. It wouldn't have been any better for him to claim that it wasn't Jack's fault. But something in the lack of that made the realisation of all he'd done wrong just stew away a little in his stomach.

He moved over towards the door and paused, his hand against the frame.

"I think," he started. "I think it might be time for me to go."
