Alan wasn't even sure why he had made the offer. If Maria wasn't safely in London with Chrissie and Ivan, chances were he would have gone on his way and not even mentioned the chance meeting to her. After all, it wasn't as if the Doctor would tell her.

Of course, his own decision-making had gotten rather dodgy of late. Which was why he allowed himself to be pulled along to follow whatever signal the Doctor had picked up.
