Um

Someone hug me now.

David Tennant has announced he is leaving Doctor Who.

Like, I knew this would happen.

I really did.

I feel like I need a Ten support group.

EDIT: Like, totally official shit, baby.

EDIT EDIT: I'm out to go have banana pancakes. Feel free to spam while I'm gone.

EDIT EDIT EDIT: I'm back. Hilarious conversation between my spouse and I on the walk home (cause you all care). Note, he his a self-proclaimed "hater of Tennant."

He: I bet there'll be a petition for him not to leave.
Me: Yeah, you know how the obsessive fans are. *sigh* But it had to happen. All Doctors come and go---
He: BUT WHY? WHY DOES HE HAVE TO GO?
Me: ...
He: ...not that I care.
Me: I may have to eljay this.

*CLING*

I totally cried when Five became Six. I wasn't prepared. At least I've got time to prepare.

Exactly. We'll make it through this. We still have four specials, as David said, and that's one whole year with the Doctor.

Although now I'm really bummed, because we never seem to get the specials here. *kicks TV*

*nodnod* And I can't see David just dumping the show, he'll appear in other specials, I'm sure!

Yeah you see. It's all good. Now I'm just worried about talking my 12yo brother through this. It will be his first regeneration. He's traumatised enough after watching The Five Doctors with me the other day.

um... ithinkiloveyou

See, I lost Five to Six when I was about 12 or so.

Just remind him that Ten isn't dead. He's just sleeping in the Doctor's mind. The Doctor is all of his incarnations mixed together like one big...um, cake!

EXCELLENT!! A cake. A cake is good. Cake works. Yes yes, and then when the next Doctor comes along we can play 'Spot the Doctor' and flail over all the little traits we find that remind us of other Doctors. *sigh*

I technically didn't lose anyone. :( I fail. Because I watched the whole series start to finish on video and DVD... but I was around 12 so... the first regeneration I saw did freak me out. But I think the one that really traumatised me, strangely, was Romana's regeneration. I got so used to falling in love with a companion and having them leave that I kinda couldn't deal with Romana regenerating.

Which sounds ridiculously immature.

It doesn't sound immature to me. I bawled like whoa when I lost Five and then even more when I lost Peri to Yrcanos (wtf, like srsly). And then when Mel left...

I think I just cry a lot.

*snuggles*

I cried like a little girl getting her hair pulled (ignoring the fact that I am female and I would have just punched the kid pulling my hair) watching the Journey's End. That was so emotional. Catherine Tate was just brilliant. I'm going to miss her. And she and David were so awesome together.
