Mun is SOOOOO drunk at the moment...Whatever you want to do to the Doctor...GO FOR IT.

The Doctor sat at the pier just near the Hub in Cardiff.

Just relaxing, with a bottle of wine.

The Doctor checks his own pulse, and Alec is right. He nods, impressed.

"You've got the best ears of anyone I've ever known, then. Even I can't hear heartbeats from a few feet away. Usually need to be right up close."

[identity profile] smart-alec494.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 06:53 am (UTC)(link)
"It was easier when we first met. We were closer, and the church was built to carry sound. And you smelled off. Not human, so I was sort of open to it. If that makes any sense." He shrugs. "And once you notice some thing like a double heartbeat it's easier to hear."

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 06:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, I remember you mentioned my smell."

Which was definitely off. Humans didn't notice things like smells and sounds, their senses just weren't strong enough.

"Married to Ruby, so I'm guessing...demon? Maybe? No, you're a Winchester. Clone? Genetically predisposed to alterations? Not an alien, you said you'd never dealt with them before? I'll figure it out!"

[identity profile] smart-alec494.livejournal.com 2008-03-24 07:03 am (UTC)(link)
Alec outright grinned. Honestly it was so rare that people were pleased with the myster instead of afraid or angry, that he was enjoying this. "You've got part of it. A start."

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll figure it out," the Doctor said, seriously. "It's like a task."

He smacked his lips and considered. "Right, not alien, so that's right. Not Winchester that's right. Part of it. Genetic predisposition to alterations? No, no, that's not close enough. Clone, maybe? Taken from Dean's genes? No, no, his sense of smell isn't nearly strong enough. Maybe...time traveler? Time Agent?"

[identity profile] smart-alec494.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
"You can get a job time traveling? Sweet!" So that would be a no to the time agent. He took a solid look at their path and then turned backwards to face the Doctor and kept walking, just backwards now, smoothly avoid obsticles. He was having a blast, the smile actually hit his eyes. "Should we play hot and cold?"

"Don't patronize me!" The Doctor was only a little frustrated that he couldn't figure it out just yet.

"Not a time agent, right. But you're not saying no to the cloning bit. I'm thinking...no." Pause. "Yes!" Another pause. "No!"

A grin.

"Yes! In the late 21st century, humans began publicly talking about genetic creations, creating 'ideal' humans. Sort of like Gattica but without Uma Thurman. That was public, but I doubt that sort of thing wasn't taking place secretly."

[identity profile] smart-alec494.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Right. Not with the patronizing." Grin. "Not to self. Try not to be an ass."

The man was hilarious to watch. All that enthusiasm in a pair of Chucks. "Nice! Close. But not quite there yet."

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
Close. Ooooh, so close! What was the Doctor missing?

"Genetic experimentation? Cross-breed cloning? Something out of Torchwood---no, no, you said you weren't an alien."

[identity profile] smart-alec494.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Closer." ::Had he turned so the Doctor couldn't see the barcode? Oh, maybe.

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, but the Doctor was on a roll. "Closer, but not quite, eh? What am I missing? Time and era? Place? Organization?"

[identity profile] smart-alec494.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Time is now, or I guess to be technical twenty two years ago. Place. Here, unless you want to pick a state. And denial or confusion don't count. Oranixation. . .you could go for that." Oh, this was fun.

[identity profile] smart-alec494.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
"Not Torchwood. Good name though."

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"Decent. Named after a farmhouse, unless I'm mistaken."

He wouldn't give up, though!

"US Government? I've never been very good with American conspiracies."

[identity profile] smart-alec494.livejournal.com 2008-03-31 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Seems like nameing something highly combustable Torch anything might be asking for trouble." Hay and torches. Back combo. Seriously.

"US Government. Or, to be specific, hey look! Hint time! Government funded subcontractors."

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2008-04-01 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
"So, we have government funded cloning that is subcontracted....Tell me, Jude Law, what are you cloned to be, or do I need to guess that, too?"

He probably did, so he continued to ramble.

"Well, judging by your weight and intelligence, you're not a Bill Gates clone...I'd say...military, perhaps?"

[identity profile] smart-alec494.livejournal.com 2008-04-01 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
"Dude, I am so much better than Jude Law. And Gattica creeped me out." He decided to both confirm and give another hint, which may only confuse things more. "Military. And heres a another hint. I am a clone, not a clone, and a prototype."

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2008-04-01 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Alec mark one then?" He hopped up and down as they walked, juggling through his mind for more ideas.

"A military prototype of the perfect soldier. Clearly rebellious, otherwise you'd still be in no-see-ums and wandering about killing things for the subcontractors who created you."

[identity profile] smart-alec494.livejournal.com 2008-04-01 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
He laughs at the hopping. "Oh clearly rebelious. They tried to get rid of that. I was loyal though. They turned on us first. Trying to cover their tracks when they were exposed." He spins just in time to not walk into a bench. Instead he hops up onto the back and walks along the endge, keeping pace with the Doctor. Hands in his pockets the entire time.

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2008-04-01 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Mental conditioning? Oh, that's brilliant. When things don't go as planned, work on elimiating what you don't like." The Doctor despised the concept of conditioning, the concept of perfection. The flaws in humanity were the things he loved most about them.

"So they were exposed, then?"

[identity profile] smart-alec494.livejournal.com 2008-04-01 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
He snorts as he drops fromt he back of the bench to the ground. "Mental conditioning? Please, dude. that's so friendly." He waggles a finger at the Doctor "And I'll have you know they did like me, or I would have been put down."

"Oh totally exposed. Like a streaker in Time Square."

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2008-04-01 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
The Doctor stops and stares at Alec, his eyebrows knitted together.

"Just...put down? Like some sort of animal? That's disgusting."

[identity profile] smart-alec494.livejournal.com 2008-04-01 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
He stops to face him. "More like defective equipment. They used the word 'destroy'. We said 'put down'. We got it from a guard who was telling another how his wife had had to have their cat put down. So you know, seemed appropriate. I mean, we knew what we were made of." It's all said in a pretty flat matter of fact tone.

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2008-04-01 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
"You're not equipment, though," the Doctor's rage couldn't be directed at Alec, which made him frustrated. It was undirectable rage.

"Just destroy a living being because you haven't worked the way they planned? Eliminate evidence? And in the end, for what? So they have a perfect soldier to go out and die some more?"
