Time Lords can either sleep or enter a trance with very little heart rate for twenty minutes or so, and it's pretty much the equivalent of 8 hours of sleep for a human.
If a Gallifreyan wants to sleep (I always assume the Doctor does), they only need around 1-6 hours of sleep every 2 days or so. Some say that Gallifreyans can go on a decade of sleep every 100 years. Of course, older Gallifreyans get tired after only 4 days or so, and younger Gallifreyans who have not yet matured enough to control their body completely need more sleep than an average human. That's usually before their first Maturation cycle.
