"There are many that do not always approve of me," Reinette teased warmly. "So I think we manage to keep good company there." Their walk slowed as they reached a low table. Marble and delicate curved legs spoke of true craftsmenship, and in truth it was as much art as the paintings on the walls. On it sat a delicate clock, its hands keeping perfect time. Reinette considered it.
"I am not sure than anything can be done." It was the few aspects of her life in which Reinette had little to no control. "I watch, and I wait. I try to learn from those that know more than I do. Sometimes, when I wake in the morning, I am sure they must have come. It is nothing more than a blur of color in my head, so it is hard to say."
Reinette composed herself once more, finding her smile.
"Perhaps nothing is done because I do not truly wish it so. Perhaps I want to see what happens next."
